Riccardo Muti and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra return to Helzberg Hall for another sonic spectacular. This time, Maestro Muti will conduct the dynamic and mercurial “Four Sea Interludes” from Benjamin Britten’s opera Peter Grimes. British lyric mezzo-soprano Alice Coote will join the orchestra to sing Elgar’s Sea Pictures, which captures the changing nature of the tides. The final half of the concert will be devoted to Tchaikovsky’s powerhouse Symphony No. 5.
